Share, explore and remember articles in 20 Minuten

We are proud to announce our latest content partnership with 20 Minuten, Switzerland’s largest free daily newspaper with a readership of 1.3 million people. Starting today, readers of 20 Minuten are able to share, explore and remember any page in the print edition using our latest iPhone application kooaba Paperboy.

Let us show you an example for each of the three main benefits using page 22 in today’s issue featuring a review about the iPad:

To interact with the printed page the reader simply has to snap a picture of it using Paperboy. Once his picture has been recognized (and assigned to the corresponding digital version of that page) he gets back a result page with options to share, explore, and remember the content he just photographed. Let’s have a closer look at the options.

Share

You really like that printed review about the iPad. Since you took one of the last copies of the issue this morning, your friends who start the day a bit later probably won’t have the chance to read it. Why not share the article with them? For example on Facebook. Sharing print content on social networks via your smartphone has never been easier. Simply tap the “Facebook” button on the result screen, type in a comment if you want and hit the publish button. Done. The same applies for sharing the article via email or Twitter.

Explore

Seeing a picture of the new iPad on the printed page is nice. Watching a video of it would be even nicer. The author mentions at the end of the article that there is more information about the review on a www.ipad.20min.ch. No problem for Paperboy. The app recognizes the web address and puts a link to it on the result screen. In fact, almost all URLs in printed pages instantly become clickable. Just tap the link and enjoy the video.

Remember

Although you would not forget about buying this great gadget when it’s available, the Remember feature is an easy way to archive printed articles you read for later reference. Simply hit the “Save to my.kooaba.com” link and the digital version of that page is automatically stored in your personal archive, along with the related information in the Explore section. Soon, you will be able to save it to your Evernote account too!

20 Minuten published an easy kooaba Paperboy how-to guide in today’s issue. I used the Remember feature to store it in my personal kooaba Library. See for yourself.
